Farming

Farming is one of the main adjacent uses for the trail. The trail affords a unique view through prime agricultural farmland and rural communities. Expect to see picturesque farms and cropland along the way. The type of farming depends on the region:

  • Mainly field crops in Wellington county
  • Farms with livestock in Waterloo Region and Perth

Respecting adjacent farmland

The trail passes through many working farms along its length. The farms provide part of the unique view that trail users enjoy, but we should also remember our obligations to the farms and farmers:

  • Do not leave the trail to go on the farmland
  • Give space to farm vehicles that might need to cross the path
  • Be mindful of farm vehicles on adjacent roads
